About HomeAnvil

HomeAnvil is a home improvement site for the United States. It publishes cost and planning guides for projects such as a new roof, and it is building a way for a homeowner to request a quote from a contractor.

What you can use today

• Roofing guides, costs and calculators, from what a roof replacement costs to how to read an estimate.
• A roof replacement cost calculator and a metal roof cost calculator.
• All guides, each with its sources listed at the bottom.

Quote requests are not open yet. The site notice says what the site does and collects in the meantime.

How the guides are made

Every price, rule and statistic comes from a source you can open, credited in the guide with the date we read it. Where two surveys disagree, the guide shows both. We re-read the sources every month and correct a guide when a figure changes. How we research our guides sets out the method, including that we use AI tools to help gather sources and draft.

How HomeAnvil is paid

HomeAnvil connects homeowners with contractors. When quote requests open, contractors will pay HomeAnvil for the requests they receive. We do not rank contractors or products, and a guide describes the work rather than naming who should do it.
